About the Project
KidLinks is creating a custom, digital application with music, animations and downloadable guidebooks to aid in the instruction of social-emotional skills development. In collaboration with Metrocare Services as a clinical resource for testing and development, this musical toolbox will be made available to community centers serving children and families throughout Texas.
A customized music resource to aid clinicians and families in the development of coping and social skills through music and media.
Project Goals
Learning Through Repetition
Play. Learn. Repeat. Children can practice skills in their natural, comfortable environment.
Decreased Negative Feelings
Music decreases the release of stress hormones such as cortisol.
Enhanced Social Functioning
Improved scores on the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths Assessment (CANS).
